w spamming is a good way to take very small kb, however it makes you slow, so only use it in bridge combat or to get out of a combo. Good players like wichtiger or bastighg use it. holding a and spamming d (or the other way around) also makes you take less kb, however you are forced to circlestrafe while doing it so its not always good.
